Eight Hundred Miles

Le cri

She’s not screaming at the top of her lungs
to clear her throat
No, it’s bigger than that
Bigger than this place
Her heart, his face
She can’t find a way out from this maze
Twisting, turning, there’s so many dead ends
Oblivion’s garden is becoming her fire
and it burns in her broken heart
Charring, scarring whatever is left
Echoes of shotguns and weddings
shoot through the aisles of her mind
She’ll accept his proposal
Through secrets, they’re together
But there’s a different person in her mind
800 miles away.
