I know you say that you’re a mess right now
And honestly, that may be true
But darling, I’m not going anywhere
I’m in love with the beautiful mess that’s you
See, I’ve got my own share of faults
How can I selfishly balk at yours?
Each of us are battling our own set of demons
We’re both waging our own internal wars
I can look past all of your darkness, love
God knows that I have enough of my own
I can see the goodness beneath the shadows
I want to make sure you never walk through them alone
You’ve been honest with me, thank you for that
You’ve told me things you didn’t have to
And yes, they’ve upset me, I can’t help it,
But they’ll never change my loving view of you
We can be beautiful messes together, darling
For I am not a perfect person, either
You accept me and the way I am freely,
So let’s keep delving deeper into this love affair
Nicole, thanks for another moving poem. I love how it celebrates relationships while fully acknowledging each of us our broken.

Thank you so much, and you’re right. We all deserve to be loved, even if we’re broken.
